Black Cat Engineering & Construction’s capabilities include expertise in the oil and gas facilities engineering works, for upstream, midstream, and downstream onshore facilities.

This includes but not limited to oil production well head facilities, flow lines, degassing stations, cross country pipelines, gas recovery systems, relief and flare systems, utilities, compressor stations, 3 phase separation, distillation columns, refinery and water treatment plants.

Black Cat Engineering & Construction has extensive experience in Green Field, and Brown Field based engineering works. Expertise also extends to Brown Field expansions, Automation Upgrades, and other complicated facilities upgrades.

The basis on which Black Cat Engineering & Construction works is that all our engineers must have experience not only in the design of these facilities, but in practical aspects related to Constructability, Commissioning, and their subsequent operation. The key success observed is that design of a system must be not only catering for the design intent or throughput of the facility, but to practical startup, operational, and maintainability aspects of the system. Black Cat Engineering & Construction has a fully qualified team of procurement engineers, officers, QA/QC engineers and logistic personnel with the expertise to deliver the right material at the right time for project execution.

Our procurement team meticulously and systematically identifies and quantifies procurement practices which are effective in delivering value-for-money services as well as identifying opportunities for improvement.

This department is also responsible for implementing procurement strategies and business practices that will provide operational efficiencies and cost savings for our clients.

Black Cat Engineering & Construction’s well experienced project managers are fully-equipped for undertaking large-scale multi-discipline EPIC projects. They are able to manage projects more precisely and effectively by applying the required knowledge, skills, tools and analytical techniques to meet project requirements. Our system of logistical planning ensures the timely distribution of resources, manpower, materials and equipment over multiple operations.

Black Cat Engineering & Construction has commenced a program to provide PMP accreditation to the Project Management Personnel (PMP) to further demonstrate the capabilities of the company to provide qualified personnel.

Our procurement team meticulously and systematically identifies and quantifies procurement practices which are effective in delivering value-for-money services as well as identifying opportunities for improvement.

This department is also responsible for implementing procurement strategies and business practices that will provide operational efficiencies and cost savings for our clients

At Black Cat Engineering & Construction, we pro-actively strive to avoid time and monetary delays resulting from poorly planned and executed maintenance shutdown tasks. Therefore, we pay meticulous attention to the scheduling and logistical side of shutdown. BCEC have executed an average of three shutdowns per year in various stations in Dukhan Fields / Mesaieed Areas for QP/QAFCO. Shutdown works include:

  • Catalyst Loading/Unloading
  • Heat Exchanger / Test-Separator Maintenance - Rotary Equipment
  • Inspection / Testing
  • Vessel Cleaning / Pressure Hydro-Jetting Equipment
  • Valve Dismantling / Testing / Re-installation
  • Instrument Dismantling / Calibration / Re-installation
  • Repair of Concrete Foundations, Demolition of Redundant Foundations/Supports

Black Cat Engineering & Construction performs specialist studies on a wide range of complex projects. These studies include:

  • Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP)
  • Safety Integrity Level Study (SIL)
  • Qualitative Risk Assessments (QRA)
  • Environmental Impact Risk Assessment

BCEC has constructed a new workshop in RLIC and has recently obtained the operating certificate to commence fabrication in this modern facility.

The 5,000m2 workshop sited on an area of 20,000 m2 with an adjacent laydown area of 10,000m2 .

The installation of specialist machining tools and ancillary equipment provides an effective and efficient steel fabrication process to service Clients in the oil & gas and construction industries.
 
Our objective is that new machines will enable the required products to be produced:

· At a significantly lower cost
· With improved quality and accuracy that will allow reduced time for site installation / fit-up
· With a shorter time period between notification and fabrication
· Reliable delivery of fabricated components
· Throughput of up to 450T per month for typical mix of work
 
The BCEC RLIC workshop has the following options:

· Pipe Cutting and Beveling
· Beam Line for structural components
· Plate Cutting and Punching / Drilling Machines
· Integrated Machine Control System
· Blast and Paint
· Material handling systems include 5 overhead cranes up to 32T capacity

These specialist machines will be operated by trained and competent BCEC employees.
